PRUNING
Crown modification, MAINTENANCE AND MORE
Pruning trees is a process of removing branches from a tree, and is a core skill for working arborists. Trees are pruned for managing risk, to control form/structure, to retain/enhance amenity value or for tree health.

ASSET CLEARANCE
Pruning of the tree canopy where parts in close proximity to building, boundary, electrical conductor or other assets are pruned back for clearance.
crown
thining
This application of pruning involves selective removal of branches from within the trees crown or of foliage from the tips of branches. This pruning allows more air movement and light penetration.
CROWN
UPLIFTING
This option of pruning involves removal or trimming of the lower branches of a tree. Uplifting is commonly applied to trees where people walk, cycle or drive beneath.
REDUCTION
PRUNING
Reducing a trees size is achieved by selective pruning of long branches, or reduction of multiple branches. Pruning is often reduced back to the parent stem, where retaining the trees habit/form is a prime objective.

exotics and seasonal pruning
It is advised that pruning of exotic trees, especially deciduous (leaves fall in winter) are pruned between July and September. This allows the longest possible time to compartmentalise the area of cut.
